Lately, Land’s End has been having some tremendous sales, many with free shipping included.  My husband loves to shop online and at the Lombard outlet store.  I must admit, though, that we’ve noticed a deterioration in quality over the past few years, coincidentally just about the time they were acquired by Sears. Little things, like of the two identical winter jackets (model/size/color) bought some years apart, the more recent purchase had a shorter body length.

Still, if you ever feel the product is defective they’ll take it back with no questions asked, so you might want to check them out.  They have been running a $20 down vest sale (ends today), which is a great price and up to 75% off on their other clearance stuff.  If you get free shipping and 75% off for some last-minute cold weather stuff, it beats the hell out of the last couple of years of garage sales.  I admit to being a sucker for the bright colors and patterns on the small children/infant clothing.  Maybe a few pairs of capri leggings for the PITA so she can layer under her skirts and skorts?

UPDATE:  Just ordered 4 pairs of leggings for the PITA.  Total came to $20.36 and included free shipping (4-7 days).  Very good deal.

The above order came in yesterday and I forced the PITA to try on one pair (else they would have disappeared into the bedroom black hole until spring).   She came downstairs with the crotch midway to her knees; when she pulled them up the top came up almost to her armpits and the bottom barely reached her knees.  And honestly?  The top was so baggy it looked like they were sized for one of those alcoholic big-gut people.   In summation:  Unless you’re dressing a drunken troll, these are not the leggings for you. and i am now off to the outlet store to return them…
