On the last page of the 10/1 -10/7/2025 ad, it lists various bakery items as “$5 when you buy 2”. as i first realized online in the very early morning hours, somebody at jewel-osco interpreted that as “2 for $5 (must buy 2)”! we’re talking items that usually go for $5.49 to $6.99 regularly! this CAN’T be intentional, and will almost surely be repealed.
i was able to cash in on an early morning 10/1 trip, with transactions at 6:34am (two-bite brownies and cinnamon rolls, 18.87oz and 17.98oz, respectively), and then at 7:11am (jewel-osco strawberry-filled swedish flop cake and pecan butter filled braided coffee cake). for the combined 4 items, i paid $10 plus $0.22 tax.

oh, according to the website, it’s limit 2 (per transaction). so probably do what i did, and break them up into separate transactions.
okay, the website doesn’t seem to be enforcing the limit, though it’s a test transaction; i didn’t finalize anything.
buy 6 pairs of items in one transaction to avoid the “$3.95 fee will apply on orders under $30”. or just eat the damned fee if you don’t want that much food, because if you were to buy 3 pairs of items (for instance), the per-item fee comes out to $0.66.
website orders can be submitted from a device in a classroom, for instance. 🙂
argh, the website price has been changed to $5 each (when you buy 2) by 12:04pm (but was still $2.50 like 20-25 minutes prior) on 10/1/25. 🙁
