Hie thee to a CVS – NOW, NOW, NOW!!!

photo.JPG
Right now the Garnier Fructis line is ringing up – NOT – at the $4.49 shelf price, but at $1/3! Yep, you read that right!  All the shampoos and conditions pictured set me back 81¢ (16¢ subtotal plus high tax) after applying the $1.50/1 coupons from 8/11 rp; there is also a $1 coupon in the 9/8 rp.

It’s better than buying with coupons — without coupons!  Do not put this one off.  What’s nice is that not only are the shelves full of product, many CVS locations have switched to 24 hours!  Plenty of time to score!

  1. I tried to google about this cause it’s pouring outside and we’re under flood warning in the city… and since I don’t own a car, a deal has to be LEGIT to get me out in this crud. Someone as of a couple hours ago tried this in KY and another in NC and said it wasn’t working.. that corporate must have fixed it. What time did you get this deal and where? People are saying it may be store specific, too.

      • Sorry, wasn’t trying to suggest you post deals you haven’t tried yourself (I find bloggers that do that kind of obnoxious, completely not including Rachel’s reader deals of course..) – just wanted to make sure it wasn’t something you did this morning that CVS corporate may have changed. It’s easing up, so I’ll throw on the boots and hope my collapsable cart doesn’t get covered in squishy squirmy crawly guts….

  2. Boo.. Didn’t work at my store around 10 PM so either they updated their system already or it was just a store by store basis.. Oh well, thanks for sharing.

    • Okay, just heard from two people – one tried it at a store that closed at 10 pm and it did not work, then he drove to a 24 hour store where it worked. Two people had luck at a 24 hour store, but I can’t see what that would have to do with anything. The last person rang out about 15 minutes ago, but did not try the styling products, only shampoo & conditioners.

      • The store I tried was a 24 hr one in Wrigleyville.. I just tried a couple of the $4.49 shampoos and a conditioner.. For anyone that’s still finding this deal, best scenario is if you have a $3/$15 hair care from the red machine & 8 on the $1.50 coupons. Ring up 45 bottles and it will only be tax I believe!

  3. Okay, now I’m completely mystified about this: Why would it only work at some stores and not all locations? I’d always believed that all the registers were somehow linked, but maybe there are slight differences? Otherwise, we’d either all get the same price or no one would. I’ll see what my emails show tomorrow morning about what was working where. As I said, I have the damned receipt (as do a couple of other readers)! This needs to be investigated…

    • Wondering if it’s how people get the overlapping Walgreen’s deals at some stores but not others? Depending on when x store updates their system? Having worked for a large dot com for 5 years, I understand “emergency” fixes for critical system glitches, too… anything is possible. When did this first pop up? Your post was the first I saw of it, then a scant few others from a google search. And comments flying about how it was hit or miss. I had other shopping to do, so I’m not too worried about having gone out.

  4. Did you check the prices on the price checker or do you have to “purchase” 3 at a time with the cashier and cancel if the price isn’t what you wanted?

    • I checked first on the machine to be sure and it read: Fructis Garnier $4.49, then the next line showed with CVS card 3/$1. I scanned a couple of varieties and the only one that didn’t scan for that price was the Pure line.
