Based on journalist Mitch Albom’s real-life friendship with his favorite college professor, Tuesdays With Morrie chronicles the lessons Albom learns during visits while his mentor and friend is dying from Lou Gehrig’s disease, or ALS. The two delve into the themes of life, love, wealth, aging, dependence, peace and death. It’s through these weekly visits that Albom realizes just how much he still has to learn about values and priorities. Albom’s 1997 book by the same name has sold more than 14 million copies worldwide to date, was adapted into a successful film in 1999, and premiered as an off-Broadway play, written by Albom himself, in 2001.  Goldstar discount tickets are available for performances at the Skokie Theatre through mid-May.
