Even cheaper cat food @ Target

Forgot about the $1 mfr coupons in the 7/26rp!  Post-redeemed and got back my $2; wanted more, but no inventory (actually, I don’t see it showing at any local Target today).  I actually paid about 60¢ per 16 lb bag. I don’t need cat food, but as a donation item it can’t be beat.
photo.JPGAdd the 25% off Cartwheel to your account, buy two Friskies 16 lb bags, use the $3 Target coupons in 8/16S plus the $10 gift card coupon when you buy two 10 lb Purina dog or cat products from 7/26 rp.  I paid $11.79 x 2 = $23.40 less two $3 Target coupons less 25% Cartwheel.  Subtotal was $13.18 and I got back the $10 gift card.  Would have bought a couple more, but they only had three on the shelf.

Here is Target’s official policy on using both Target coupons:
Category/Department and Storewide Coupons:

  • If redeeming more than one category/department or storewide coupon, you must meet the purchase requirements for each coupon individually.
  • If redeeming a category/department coupon plus a storewide coupon, you must meet the purchase requirements for each coupon individually.
  • Percent off coupons will apply to all qualifying items in the transaction. No other same category/department or storewide coupon will apply.

  1. I am confused. I did this deal tonite. But when I got home and read your post and seen “If redeeming a category/department coupon plus a storewide coupon, you must meet the purchase requirements for each coupon individuallly” I thought it meant you would need to buy 4 bags to get to use 2 $3 coupons target coupon and 1 $10 GC. What am I not understanding? I like to know what I am talking about in the event the sales associate questions my usage.

    • I bought 2 bags, used 2 Target $3 coupons and (post-redeemed) the 2 $1 mfr coupons plus I used the $10 Target Gift card coupon because I bought 2 Friskies (by Purina) dry cat food bags of 10 lbs or more. If I had been able to find 4 bags (lucky you!) I would have used 4 $3 Target coupons plus 4 $1 mfr coupons plus 2 $10 gift card coupons, since they are all different coupons. You are meeting the wording since you are buying 2 10 lb+ bags for each $10 gift card issued in the department/category.

I read the official coupon wording to mean that the $3 coupon is only valid on that specifc item, but the $10 gift card coupon is a category coupon. Completely different coupon and requirements. Like buying cosmetics, etc. and using mfr, Target specific coupons and then a department/category-wide $5 off $15, for example.
