Comp tickets to Princess Ida (Gilbert & Sullivan) – March dates

unnamed (5)Princess Ida, a hilarious battle-of-the-sexes that centers around a princess who eschews her marriage obligations to a prince to run a women’s university. To prevent war between the kingdoms, the well-meaning prince endeavors to woo the princess by infiltrating her university … disguised as a woman, of course. First staged at the Savoy in 1884, this witty tale of cross-dressing princes and the feminists who love them — presented in an updated new production by The Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company– features Sullivan at his finest. (In fact, the series of trios, quartets and quintets in Act II is regarded among the very best in their canon.)  Goldstar has Princess Ida tickets as low as Comp (plus service fee) for March 12 and 13 performance dates at Mandel Hall in Hyde Park.  Sounds like fun!
