Rumored to be inspired by her time spent working as an assistant for Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, Assistance is Leslye Headland’s office comedy for the 21st century. When Nora, an awkward young woman, takes a job as one of Daniel Weisinger’s assistants, the mind-numbing tasks and her boss’s domineering and illogical nature soon threaten her sanity. Best known for her play Bachelorette, which she adapted into a hit Sundance film, Headland wields a take-no-prisoners style of comedy that pushes the limits of how female characters are allowed to act. Comedy star Will Ferrell is set to executive produce a TV series adaptation of Assistance starring Krysten Ritter.
