I received this Free t-shirt from Cents of Style, but it certainly doesn’t affect my thoughts on feeling grateful (well, that’s one more thing to be grateful for!), although it fits nice enough to wear on a regular basis.
Fashion Friday Story for 11/4/16: FREE Thankful T-Shirt with any $25 purchase with promo code THANKFUL1
When disaster strikes, you are at first stunned, paralyzed and barely able to get through one day at a time – this was my family in April, 2013 when massive flooding caused our county to be declared a Federal Disaster Area. We were lucky – yes, lucky – because we were out only a couple of days; others have never returned. On the plus side, once those houses are demolished we’re gonna have some really nice views. We lost floors of stuff, but as an extreme couponer smack dab in the middle class, I know the value of stuff compared to lives. I also recognize the value of true friends who pitched in time, money and gift cards to help. Who emailed support and prayers. That’s why I am and will continue to be Grateful. The photo above is a rescue boat bringing me (and poochies) to shallow water; our house isn’t pictured, but the waterline mark was over five feet high.
It’s been three years now, things return to normal and when I think about what we lost these sentiments help remind me to be thankful for what we still have and what’s truly important. If you’d love a t-shirt of your own to remind you of what you have, not what you don’t, (choose berry or white), click here.
