Get these three Star Wars masks for only $10 each at Target.com – they were $16 (still $16 on Amazon!). The first two are only sold online.  Use your redCARD, pay 5% less and get FREE shipping.

They also have a voice-changing Darth mask, but that’s almost $30 – – but très cool!

Bread and circuses…well, sorta

photo.JPGStopped at Dollar General for the Purina Beneful Healthy Smile dog treats – these are actually kind of neat!  Remember, you’re gonna be paying high tax on these:  My OOP on 12 was 99¢.

Picked up a large loaf of white sandwich bread for FirstBorn, who considers multigrains a Communist plot.  Paid 30¢ ($1.29 less the $1 mobile coupon plus a penny low tax).

Update: free detergent, too! Free bread & cheap meat @ Target

The newest Target mobile coupons include a $1 off any fresh meat purchase of $1 or more and $1 off any brand sandwich bread.  Target’s regular loaf of white sandwich bread is, I believe 99¢ and see how small a pack of ground beef you can find!  ’cause free is best.

Text FRESH to 827438 and click on the link that’s returned.  You will receive a unique link for several Target Mobile coupons valid through November 16th. When you get to the register, have the cashier scan the code and any applicable coupons will be deducted.  easy-peasy!

UntitledOne of the mobile coupons is for $1 off any brand laundry detergent.  Stack it with this $1 All coupon and you should be able to get the 10 ct pack for FREE (I always put in ymmv…’cause it’s Target, kwim?)

Target makes me crazy (or the things I do for free)

I got this alert on Tuesday evening about a great Target deal with the new BOGO accessories mobile coupon:  ANY item purchased reduced the higher-value (up to $58.99) to zero.  You can see where this is going, right?  Yeah, going right to the clearance section, where people had been emailing me and sending pictures of their $2.38 earrings and Timex Ironman watches.  I didn’t posts this because, hey, it’s Target, okay?  But then Hip2Save posted her transaction with a Target comment on their Facebook page that it was perfectly fine and they wanted their Guests to enjoy using the coupon.

I added the coupon to my phone and drove over to the Woodridge Target – sigh.  I actually wanted to buy a non-clearance item:  one or two of those little band rings made of gold or silver.  Here’s what I found – – looked like the Kardashian House of Horror.photo.JPG

There was seriously nothing to buy – this stuff was so ugly that if I were robbed I wouldn’t bother calling the police.

Decided on a leather watch band as-is for $2.98 ’cause I figured I could always donate it and the Timex Ironman with 3 alarms, water resistant to 100 meters and more, priced at $44.99. Headed up to checkout. Shift person comes up and says I can’t use the mobile coupon on clearance or as-is items. I said I’m pretty sure I can. She said no, they got contacted by corporate that it was only regular sale items.

At this point I’m not too pissy, so I ask for the store director (the LOD), a very nice young man who goes to see what he can find in the jewelry section.  He really looked – in drawers, in cases, behind sections – but nothing that was theft-worthy.  Some seriously fugly jewelry.  So he calls customer service and comes back to say that they weren’t taking clearance items any more.  I asked to talk to them and he gave me the number on the card, where they ask you if you want English or French, then ask if you want English or Spanish then put you on hold forever while the recording loop tries to convince you that Target appreciates and values your business. Finally I get a person to whom I pour out the information about Target commenting on Facebook about getting the higher-value item free, how people have been phoning me all day about these great deals for pennies (with accompanying photos). He finally says that they’ve decided to go ahead with allowing clearance items, so I head back up to guest services and ask for the LOD to hand the phone over. He just left for the day – – and I get another LOD who tells me that it was a glitch and Target corporate had fixed it and notified them. I hand my phone over to her, while another customer service person tries to find the comments on Target’s Facebook page.

THe LOD finishes with the phone and hands it back. She says that the corporate person says it won’t work with the clearance items and that it was a glitch. Which was the complete opposite of what he had just told me. She says that it won’t work with the As-Is watch band I have, so I go back and pick up the Timex clearance band for $2.98. Well, Saints be Praised! It worked. Paid with a gift card. HAH!  And only spent an hour getting my watch!  such a good use of my time…
