Sunday 8/31 insert
This Sunday we have the P&G September insert, together with some extra coupons courtesy of a CVS flyer (mfr coupons with CVS logo). Target has only two store coupons: 25% off Boots & Barkley pet purchase of $30 or more (boo!) and a $5 off Just One You made by Carters purchase of $20 or more (a double boo!!).
Target has been making statements about ratcheting down the high value store coupons and in-store promotions, but I don’t think this week is necessarily a sign of the times. More likely people are out enjoying the last weekend of summer and not shopping so why bother with promotions!
It’s got2b Target…
Was on my way to Meijer when I decided to stop at Target. Good thing because I was able to grab got2b styling products and get the $5 gift card (I think it’s through the 30th). The orange can of mousse is $3.99, while the flat-iron balms are 30¢ more. The Starbucks are on sale 2/$4 and there’s a handy-dandy, no size specified, $4/2 printable on the Starbucks site (thank you, Rachel!). The Herbal Essence hair color was on clearance for $2.98 – I’ll return with a $2 coupon from either 8/10 S or 8/24 S.
The Quorn chik n’ cutlets were clearanced out at $1.88 – looked good, so I took them all! Please don’t tell me they smell like feet.
another Target trip
Hit another Target looking for the kitchen Touch-Ups (yellow), but again, only found a few bathroom bottles. At least this Target had a nice variety of the Hormel REV wraps which both PITA and FirstBorn grab as quick lunches. On the REV wraps, grab the 30% off Cartwheel (through 8/30), plus the $1/2 mfr coupon from 8/17 S plus this $1/2 Target coupon. Since they’re currently on sale 3/$5 ($1.65 each), I paid 30¢ each after bag credit and REDcard.
Target trippin’
Two transactions ’cause I wanted to roll the $5 gift card…’cause i’m cheap that way. all ways, actually.
By three Got2b products and get a $5 gift card. Grabbed four gels for $3.99 each and used the $2 mfr coupons from 8/2 r2. Pay $5.97 and get back $5. I used my REDcard and also one bag credit so total slightly lower. The Windex Touch-ups are also a $5 gift card promotion: Buy four at $3.99 each, use this $5/4 Target coupon with this $2/3 mfr printable and add the 5% Windex Cartwheel. Brings down your total to $6.24 after coupons, Cartwheel and bag credit. Pay with a prior $5 or not, actual OOP was $1.32 with my REDcard.

Should be able to make something of this pet coupon!
Unfortunately, the last coupons for these ($1) expired back in June. Nothing showing currently, but printables can always appear. Those Outshine bars rock!
Target reports 62% drop in profit
Aug 20 (Reuters) – Target Corp reported a 62 percent drop in second-quarter profit and cut its full-year earnings forecast as it resorts to price cuts to attract cash-strapped consumers and win over shoppers unnerved by a massive holiday-season data breach.
Target, whose shares were down 2.5 percent at $57.75 in premarket trading on Wednesday, cut its full-year adjusted profit forecast to $3.10-$3.30 per share from $3.60-3.90.
The company cut its earnings estimate for the second quarter earlier this month, saying a pullback in consumer spending had led to weak sales.

Note: This is a regularly-priced product, so don’t rush (probably won’t find inventory), but I’d print justincase they hit limit. I saw crowds of mothers at two Targets yesterday, frantically grabbing school supplies. Really, people, you had to wait until the school bus was practically at the corner before you moved on this?
Target carries Paper Mate 10-pks for 97¢. Stack the 50¢ mfr from 8/17 S with this $1/2 Paper Mate items Target coupon for FREE pens! I only picked up four packs ’cause we really don’t need any more pens or pencils!
Looking for free gum to toss in the cart, grab some Juicy Fruit bottles and use this triple play: Print this $1 Target coupon with this 75¢ mfr coupon from All You and the 50% off Cartwheel. Prices range from $2.24 to $2.99 so either free or really cheap gum. I was unable to find any stock at three Targets, but the numbers should work.
If you’re wondering about the Elmo Junction deal, it’s still working ’cause I picked up one at a different Target within the past hour.

Elmo Junction: PM + Cartwheel combo
Stopped at another Target to see if there were any Suave lotions in the Chicagoland area. This store had lots…marked 30¢ higher! Even scanned to double-check.
So ran another deal entirely…Target.com has this Playskool Sesame Street Elmo Junction for $24.99, while stores carry it for $44.99. There is a 40% off on Cartwheel, so I price-matched, used Cartwheel and REDcard and paid $14 plus tax.
Great way to impress for less…
Target for the rough times ahead…
Mondays at Target are like shopping in Soviet-era Russia – not much on the shelves. Since the sun has done a number on skin, it’s time for lotion deals! Buy four Suave lotions and get a $5 gift card. These 18 oz pump bottles are $2.54. Start at $10.16, then subtract the $3/$10 Suave products Target coupon, two 50¢ mfr coupons from 7/27 rp2 and 2 50¢ coupons from Walmart site (does NOT print with Walmart logo). These coupons read Limit TWO per transaction… After REDcard and bag credit, I paid $5.74 and got a $5 gift card.
Note: The $3/$10 coupon scans as expired. Cashier will first announce it’s expired – you’ll drop your gum – then look at the date and see 8/30. It’ll have to be manually entered (most cashier are old hands at this!) or call for a supervisor to show her/him/how. Maybe by the time stock comes in they’ll have this glitch fixed. probably not…
