Oak Park Festival Theatre’s outdoor production is set in the over-the-top, youth-centric 1980s world of John Hughes and his club of endearing scoundrels. Think Ferris Bueller in rhyming couplets! Goldstar has tickets to Bard Fiction – Pulp meets…
This imaginative adaptation asks the age-old, perennially puzzling question: “What if William Shakespeare had written Quentin Tarantino’s Pulp Fiction?” (Well, for one thing, a Royale With Cheese would have been a “Hachis Parmentier.”) Set in Elizabethan England, this comic concoction trades pistols for daggers and cars for horses as it follows the adventures of a pair of enigmatic hit men, their boss’ dangerously sexy wife and a go-for-broke knight. This laugh-filled Commedia Beauregard production at City Lit Theater is packed to the brim with honor, betrayal and … foot rubs. Tickets on Goldstar range from $8 to $15 with performance starting July 10th through August 2nd. Sounds like fun!
