When the students of Lovely Valley Performing Arts Magnet High School’s drama department produce a teacher-written, musical production of Lord of the Flies (but they can’t use the title), all hell breaks loose. The kids, left behind at a “research” retreat in an abandoned forest preserve, gradually turn savage in a couple of unsupervised hours, and the plot points of the novel begin to come true one by one — in song.
