On a separate note, my toilet-challenged i5 is now completely functional!  Most functions came back within a day, but the phone still made no alert sounds when someone called or texted me or a new email came in – rather inconvenient.  So for a couple of nights I put it in a sealed baggie with a couple of silica packs and that did the trick!
