By the time the rain delay was announced we were pretty much wiped out and ready for bed ’cause who knew how long this nail-biter would continue?  Forced PITA upstairs ’cause Thursday is still a school day, thankyouverymuch.  I’m reading in bed and close to midnight I hear fireworks off in the distance.  First thought – Zombies!! – second thought, hit the laptop and check The Trib.  Not zombies, although that would have been more likely even a few years ago.  Run into PITA’s room saying, wake up, wake up.  She shoots straight up and says WHAT!  I said THEY WON.  THE CUBS WON THE WORLD SERIES!  She’s hugging me and yelling and…STILL COMPLETELY ASLEEP!

This morning she says she had the weirdest dream last night and I was in it.  Oh, what was it about.  I dreamed you told me the Cubs had won the World Series…  oh, to be able to sleep that soundly again.
