As I’ve mentioned before, the annual convention of BlogHer takes place this year in Chicago – last year’s was in NYC; remember those road trip posts? BlogHer is the national convention for all things blog-related. Here’s link to an article from last week’s Sun Times about Jory Des Jardins, one of the founders of BlogHer. It’s short and interesting.
Many of you know I own approximately 150 dogs – – well, little dogs running around makes it seem like that many. And yes, it’s expensive for all their shots. So I started buying my vaccination products online through sites that supply vets and animal breeders. In Illinois (as in many other states), you can buy all the vaccines you want/need with the exception of rabies, which have to administered by a licensed vet. I am very happy with my current supplier, Revival Animal Health, because they’re extremely responsive to emails, ship very quickly and have excellent prices. And no, I don’t get paid a dime to say that! Eliminate everything but rabies (and you can get those at any of the big-box animal stores with a quick wellness check or at your own vet) and you’ve reduced considerably the cost of pet ownership.
And they don’t only carry vaccines and medication. Want your pet ID microchipped? Right now they’re on sale for $34.99 for a 5 ct of single use, disposable implanters. These are the same ones you pay $50+ retail (I know ’cause I’ve paid…).
This Fedex package arrived today: Let’s Talk About Your Bum from Cottonelle. It’s actually one of the “parties” I’ll be attending next week during BlogHer2013. Last year’s convention was held in NYC (remember Road Trip?) and I had a roomie (Rachel, of course). This year it’s being held in Chicago at McCormick Place so daily mini road trip. I’d stay downtown, too, but then no one in my house would be able to find the butter…
This week’s paper has no inserts (sometimes there are no scheduled inserts but we find a surprise in the packet – nothing in this week’s packet but dumb ole ads) Surprising, because it’s not a holiday weekend or anything and without inserts they’re gonna sell a whole heap fewer papers! Next week we’re back to two.
