“Shortages at grocery stores are nowhere near as visible as they were at the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, when shoppers flocked to stores to stockpile food and household staples. But supply in grocery store aisles has not fully recovered to pre-pandemic levels, and companies such as Costco and Sam’s Club have recently reinstated purchase limits for customers on paper products and cleaning supplies.

Most restaurants are offering Free Coffee today in honor of National Coffee Day but the ones I’ve seen offer it only when you buy something – so screw ’em :). Panera doesn’t have any of that fine print and the only requirement at Starbucks is that you bring in your own reusable cup.

I’m not surprised by this article, since I’ve had the worst luck getting dairy products at Jewel and Aldi was completely out of all dog and cat dry food yesterday (mgr said they’ve been having delivery issues plus customers taking quantities).  Click the link to the CNN article from today – might be time to buy a case of toilet paper from Amazon like last year.  I bought two cases, supplemented with a few clearance packages (very few); about 15 rolls remain.

Let’s see, sausages from that BOGO Jewel deal a couple of months ago (already!?) where the packages had 50% off stickers, so maybe $1.99 each pack of five?  Chicken drumsticks value pack was $3.27, mixed a couple of steamed, diced potatoes into Saffron Road pouches from Dollar Tree (omg, delicious) … paid a buck a pack for buns, DH bought squash & zucchini, so that’s non-grocery budget food imo 🙂  Rice pudding with craisins for dessert.
