DH and I went out for breakfast today to someplace new (to me, anyway), Labriola Bakery on Butterfield. Mind you, I like cheap, but won’t eat junk just because it is. Having said all that, this place is pricey! For two breakfast sandwiches (which included sides), an OJ and large “American” coffee the bill was $22. seriously. Can we say OMYGOD? If I want a good breakfast sandwich, I’ll head on over to Panera where breakfast sandwiches, without the free coupon, are about $5 and “American” coffee is $1.79. And let’s be real: the Mexicans are running both places. In point of fact, if it weren’t for the Mexicans, most restaurants would shut their doors. well, except for all those Greek diners…
As an aside, they had brownies in the bakery section: $2.99 for a whole one (they also sell halves). Wonder if they’d like to buy some mixes…
Added note: just remembered – my DH’s side was an order of fruit, most of which went uneaten because it was too unripe to eat!
