Arboretum Groupon

Pay to visit plants…OK, go for it.  Today’s Groupon is a $5 ticket to Morton Arboretum in Lisle (normally $11, which includes parking).  They’ve already sold almost 5,000 of these Groupons!

$5 to visit 1,700 acres.  Wonder how much could I charge to visit my 2/3 of one acre?  I know!  I’ll accept RRs!

Deets:   Expires Aug 31, 2011; Limit 1 per person per visit, may buy 3 more as gifts. Parking included. Not valid for group tours. Tax included.

  1. I totally agree, why do outings with the kids have to be so damn expensive? Family of 4 $44 regular price just to visit a beautiful garden, not including the $50 you would spend to eat and buy something. Really? I remember when I was a kid, donations were made by the Pritzkers to offset such ridiculous costs so common folk could have a good time. Not anymore. That’s why the arts are going down the tubes, because people can’t afford it. This price is worth it, believe it or not, that’s why people are jumping on it because it’s normally expensive as shit.

    • exactly! Lulu is right…just my point that these kids are all video game addicts and computer addicts cuz no one can afford to take their kids anywhere nowadays! I did jump on this one…it’s a great deal plus I have family peeps that live nearby!

  2. Read about a MM for nail clippers at Target. Basic nail clippers – $1.77 (your price may vary)+MF Q – $2/1 @target.com= $0.23 Money Maker. Out spat a printed coupon at the register for $5/2 Revlon beauty tools. For 2 more nail clippers:2 nail clippers = $3.54+ Used printed Q – $5/2= $1.46 Money Maker. So, 3 nail clippers for free and $1.69 MM. Will try today and see what’s what.

    • Revlon Nail clipper deal at Target: Bought Revlon 2.24 toes nail clipper + $2 Target Revlon cpn = .43 OOP. Out spits $5 off 2 + buy 2 Revlon nail clippers 2.49 that keep the clippings inside = Target cashier marks cpn down to $4.98 and cost is zero. Ran this twice. 6 nail clippers for .86 OOP. You can buy another Revlon product, but these are nice quality nail clippers.

  3. If you have a chicago public library card and you check out a museum pass you can go to the Chicago Botanical Gardens for free…they usually charge 20 bucks to park no ‘admission’ fee.
