I don’t understand why this Toshiba Satellite 15.6″ Laptop with 4GB Memory and 500GB Hard Drive is still available, but I would definitely grab it. The photo shows PITA’s unit during the installation and update process. She wasn’t used to trackpads, so that’s a learning curve. With a bump in memory (from the current 4G to 16G max) it should take care of all her school and games needs for the next few years – right now we seem to be 100% in game mode…
I’d advise buying online and then picking up in the store at your convenience; I think they give you a week. If there aren’t any available in your local store(s), shipping is FREE.
I’m soooo tempted to buy another!! How’s the mouse working out- that’s one thing I hate when a mouse is hard to maneuver.
I’m making her learn trackpad use now. It doesn’t come with a mouse, so whatever type you’re comfortable with would be fine. FirstBorn hooked up a mini-mouse he found in a basement tote to his laptop. This is a really, really nice laptop – surprisingly fast and will easily last most people a few years (I’d recommend increasing memory down the road).
