lydie-breeze-0923131Goldstar has comp tickets available for nine performances of Lydie Breeze; other tickets are $10 – still half off!  For more than 30 years, playwright John Guare has been obsessed with Lydie Breeze, one of his finest works in a career full of standouts (Six Degrees of SeparationAtlantic CityThe House of Blue Leaves).  Audiences, too, have been drawn into this melodrama charged with mystery, misery and uncanny power. Lydie Breeze transports you back to 1895, to a weather-beaten beach house that was once the center of a failed utopian community. Inside, characters deal with the fall-out from the commune’s tragic history of adultery, murder and suicide. The persistence of American optimism — and the prevalence of American corruption — are gorgeously illustrated in Guare’s enduring play, now brought to haunting life by Ka-Tet Theatre Company.
