Vistaprint – PSA

I bought a few things earlier this month from Vistaprint before my livingsocial $20 for $80 voucher expired.  I always take the standard shipping (’cause I’m not in a hurry and I’m cheap).  Well, the box showed up Thursday – that’s fast!

Vistaprint is one of those places I push ’cause I’ve used them for many years and never had issues (and I have several friends who use them for personal and business needs).  Restaurant.com and swagbucks are two others (although I’ve only used swagbucks for about six months – and yes, I keep kicking myself for not registering sooner – free $$$).

You know the drill:  Restaurant.com vouchers never expire; you can change from one restaurant to another using free customer service; if a restaurant closes or otherwise leaves the program your voucher is put into your account in blank form; you can find restaurants all across the nation, so a great way to make vacations and road trips even easier!  I love these, have used them for years and have many friends who do the same.  Wait – are your surprised?  I mean that I have friends…

Not the cheapest you’re gonna find, but more of a selection this early in the month – it’s a judgment call.

Restaurant.com – beginning of the month codes

Restaurant.com Weekly Promo Offer 468 x 60

These are by no means the cheapest deals you’re gonna find, but since it’s the beginning of the month, most of the restaurants have reset their vouchers, so you’ll have the greatest selection.  End of the month is cheapest, but much less of a selection.  Actually, you’re only talking about a buck or two…

they don’t expire; they automatically revert to blank form is a restaurant closes or leaves the program; you can exchange one restaurant voucher for another just by calling the nice people at customer service – it’s free!  You can also buy these for restaurants in places you are planning to visit – one less thing to worry about.

restaurant.com 70% off

Restaurant.com  Restaurant.com has dropped (or increased, depending on your point of view) their certificate price to 70%.  Yes, they will get cheaper, the closer you get to the end of the month, but again, that’s when you are left sifting through the dregs.  My advice?  Click the link and see if there are any new ones or ones that you’ve been looking for.  It doesn’t cost anything to look, you know.

Restaurant.com 60% off

Restaurant.com Weekly Promo Offer 468 x 60Hmm, 60% off at Restaurant.com.  Nothing to write home about, since they’ll drop to 80% in the next couple of week.  But check to see if your favorites have been added or if they’ve added new vouchers – maybe you’re now planning a holiday road trip.  By the time they drop to 80% off, most of the great deals have been snatched up:  All great reasons to get Restaurant.com vouchers now.  The Drill:  They never expire; if a restaurant closes or otherwise leaves the program, that voucher is placed in blank form in your account; if you change your mind about a voucher you’ve bought, you call customer service and they’ll change for another restaurant at no charge.  So what’s not to like?  Some restrictions at some restaurants (and some they just don’t enforce), but all in all, this is a great program – I’ve used them for years with no trouble.  My only suggestion is that you not print out certificates months (or even weeks) before using – if you show up at a restaurant and they no longer accept vouchers, you won’t lose the value, ’cause it’s automatically been transferred into blank form, but there’s nothing you can do when it’s not part of the program.  One reader was in the habit of printing these certificates out as she bought them, then having them sit around her desk for months.  She never went back to check her account, so didn’t know that two restaurants had dropped out of the program until she showed up – on the same night!  Yep, went from one restaurant right to the other.  This has never happened to me or anyone else, but it’s something to keep in mind.  And it’s definitely not a restaurant.com issue…

Cool giant banner, huh?  Well, you know the drill:  These vouchers will never expire.  If a restaurant you’ve selected leaves the program or closes, your voucher can be switched to another restaurant of your choice.  Customer service is available to make any changes for no charge (and they’re very pleasant to deal with – trust me on this). The 80% promo is the cheapest you’ll find these vouchers (maybe once or twice a year they go to 90%).

What can I say?  I love restaurant.com, have used them for years and have many friends who love the ability to pick restaurants from thousands across the country – great for when you’re traveling.

You know the drill:  Restaurant.com vouchers never expire; if a restaurant closes or leaves the program the voucher is automatically returned to your account and available as a blank certificate, you can choose from thousands of restaurants across the country, which makes for some great choices when you travel and customer service will quickly (at no charge) change a voucher from one restaurant to another if you change your mind.  The best discounts appear near the end of the month, but that’s also when most of the restaurants have already run out of vouchers – so it’s a toss-up.
