I use TurboTax and have since we filed on clay tablets.  back in the day  A few years ago they decided it would be a good thing to put limits on the number of times you could install it.  That went over like a lead balloon.  We were unable to do our tax return and my mom’s so I said the heck with them the next year and tried H&R Block…ugh.  Next year TurboTax welcomed us with open arms and we returned, both of us agreeing to never stray again.  So I can recommend TurboTax because it’s simple.  Want to use just the forms – go for it.  Want the whole walk-through experience complete with hand-holding?  You got it.  They offer ALL their programs FREE – – up to a point.  If you have lots of deductions, childcare expenses, etc., then you have to move up to the Deluxe edition.  But what do you have to lose?

I checked out the sneakers they have today on Haute Look … and boy they have tons!  I didn’t know Crocs made sneakers btw.  They have Diesel, Keds, Puma, New Balance and lots more starting at $15.  Check out the really weird Diesel high tops (like really high) – they call to me.

Okay, this might sound extremely odd coming from el Cheapo’s keyboard … but I think this Lint Lizard is a good idea.  Fires start in dryers, folks, because even though you clean the lint trap and around and under the dryer, there’s still a whole mess of lint that you can’t reach.  A former neighbor told me about a dryer fire they had due to lint buildup, which scared me enough to open the dryer (unscrew stuff and all) and whoa! there was a lot of lint that had been pushed down under the filter and little by little had built up to a big wad.  Well, it’s too much work to take the stupid dryer apart all the time and you can’t vacuum it out even with a crevice tool (I’ve tried).  So if this thing works, it’s cheap prevention.  end of rant or public service announcement – you decide.  and if it doesn’t work it goes back so fast it’ll make their heads spin.

Okay, this is a 44 inch extension tool that fits on your vacuum (so it sucks really hard – shut yo mouth).  S&H is $6.99 and you can get a second lint lizard and dust lizard for an additional $6.99 S&H.

And yet another survey site:  Survey.com.  This one is desperately looking for males, offers rewards that range from 375 to 750 points and gives you 25 points for any survey you don’t qualify for.  That’s one of the reasons I dropped a couple of sites – get ten minutes into the darn thing and you’re told sorry, Charlie!

If you use Zantac, this $3 coupon is a great one to print – the insert coupons have only been a buck lately.  Heck, I’d print it anyway on the off-chance we’ll see a MM at Wags or CVS in the next month.

Nielson had their partial program open a short time ago, but it was restricted to those with land lines, which many people are doing away with entirely.  This full version works with cell phones, I guess.  If you are accepted, they send you a hand scanner which you use to scan the bar codes on all items you buy/bring into your home for personal use (not for resale, you stockpilers, you) and then once a week you dial an 800 number and hit send.  That’s it.  My scanner beeps all the time in protest over the quantities I purchase.  Enter quantity:  440.  BEEP!:  are you sure?  hehehehehe

Again, I’m all about easy, so if it takes too much time or requires too much hoop-jumping, it’s not for me.  Try Nielson and see if 1) you are accepted and 2) it’s something you enjoy doing.  They give you all sorts of clap-trap about how your influencing manufacturers, but I’m only doing it for the money (points).
