Ruby Red Grapefruit

Buy 1 Tray, Get 1 Tray FREE offer from Hales Groves. That’s 18 pounds of grapefruit for the price of 9.  I’m so tired of this gawd-awful winter and want a ray of sunshine, okay?  And it kinda makes up for the junk food…I know earlier I said it was a lot of grapefruit, but those Honeybells were awesome and I know these Ruby Reds will be as good – they’re guaranteed to be!

Located in Vero Beach, in the heart of the Indian River region, Hale Groves has been offering premium citrus gifts since 1947 to a national market. Hale Groves fully guarantees our citrus to be the very best you will find, anywhere.

February is National Grapefruit Month – – who knew?

Heck, I love grapefruit (Hale has white, ruby red and deep red varieties), but even I would have to admit I could never go through a box of them!  However, this 16 pound sale box of navel oranges and tangerines is $36.98 plus shipping, available as a preorder (shipping starts in about a week).  Your box will look exactly like the pictured fruit.  I have only 3 Honeybells left from that big box I received two weeks ago…yeah, they are that good.

The BOGO Honeybell promotion was scheduled to end January 31st, but I just checked and it let me put it in the cart and proceed to checkout.  If you’re looking for the same fruit deal I bought, this is it.  There is a 100% guarantee on all their fruit – I did not get even one slightly mushy fruit.

Laugh all you want at my expensive fruit – these are beautiful!  The fruit is only picked when orders come in, so they’re not sitting around a warehouse or storage facility.  Sorted and boxed and sent via Fed Ex temp-controlled truck to the closest post office.  From there it’s brought to your door by the local USPS carrier.  I checked the first row and they’re all perfect. Seeing them in person, I’d say they are the Minneola oranges we see for a short time in early Spring. This was a lucky guess ’cause they’re my favorite citrus of all.   While I love those Cuties-type tangerines, it’s an awful lot of peeling for very little fruit…now these babies, on the other hand…

These are still BOGO for another week at Hale Groves.  Including shipping, I paid $44.93 for a box at least 18 pounds.  Order was placed January 6th and held until the weather cleared.  And I was wrong:  I can not eat a case of these at one sitting…

Cold spell won’t harm FL citrus – hah!

I just read this on AP and I don’t see how they can be so confident.  Call me cynical, but I figure they’re only saying this so we won’t stock up now and they’ll be able to claim frost damage as the reason for higher prices in the future.  nah, they’d never do that… I’m biting the bullet here and grabbing this Hale deal ’cause every time I buy the sale cases of little tangerines, there are always a couple that are either rotten or about to rot. Hale offers a 100% guarantee and I like that.

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — Florida’s citrus industry isn’t expecting any damage to crops from a deep freeze afflicting much of the continental U.S.

Temperatures are expected to dip into the 30s in parts of Florida on Tuesday. But Florida Citrus Mutual spokesman Andrew Meadows said temperatures must be at 28 degrees or lower four hours straight for fruit to freeze badly. Some pockets of low-lying areas could get that cold, but not any large swaths of land. Meadows said he is optimistic the citrus crop will stand up well to the colder temps.

Hale Grove – $10 off Georgia peaches

Sweet Georgia Peaches, known as the finest grown in the country, are now on sale!  Take $10 off each box ordered through June 30th, along with a discounted shipping rate.  Sorry, but the stuff you buy in stores is about as tasty as cardboard; if they’re picked when hard and unripe, you can’t expect them to taste like you picked them off the backyard tree, now can you?  And yes, I do miss my peach trees!!!!!

Read the reviews on Hale Georgia peaches – yes, they’re more than retail stores, but…just read.
