Richard Strauss’ sumptuous Der Rosenkavalier, a simultaneously hilarious and poignant look at love, features more than 100 musicians performing the piece’s famous waltzes, topped off with some ravishing performances. Charles Gounod captures all the passion of Romeo and Juliet with his soaring opera known for its iconic love duets.
