Free tickets to Sam Shepard’s Geography of a Horse Dreamer

Goldstar is offering FREE tickets to Geography of a Horse Dreamer, a twisted, black-humored tale about an unlucky cowboy whose fading gift for dreaming horse-race winners has landed him in the forced company of a pair of low-level thugs, eager to please their crime boss.  This production is being performed at Angel Island Theater.  Shepard directed the premiere production in London in 1974 which starred Stephen Rea and Bob Hoskins.

If you’re looking for ways to cut costs on date nights, you really should be checking out all the various freebie deals Goldstar offers.  While you might have to drive to the theaters, well, wouldn’t you have to in any case?  And they always have decent offerings.

Goldstar $5 tickets – Iphigenia 2.0: A Modern Adaptation

And when they say old classics, we’re talking thousands of years since Euripides penned this puppy.  This exuberant and modern retelling of Iphigenia at Aulis uses pop culture and modern musical references to examine what we sacrifice in the name of war and country. Written by Charles Mee as part of his (re)making project, and directed by David Kersnar with his brand of physical theater, this production is a smart and entertaining retelling of Euripides’ classic parable of self-destruction.
