CVS for Coke and Kleenex

While next week’s ad has Coke 12-pks at 4/$10 and a continuation of the $30 CVS cash card, we desperately needed Kleenex.  Picked up 16 boxes of assorted sizes of Kleenex, six cartons of Diet Coke and a gallon of milk.  Used four $1/2 Kleenex coupons from the Jewel grand opening booklets of a few months ago, five Free Coke coupons (My Coke Rewards) and a $2 ecb.  The Coke coupons scanned at $4.99, which meant I only needed to use five.  Total was $3.76; $2.22 was tax.  Got a $10 CVS cash card.

If you’re doing this for the Coke and don’t have the FREE coupons, wait until next week and get a bigger bang for your buck.   I shopped at the Naperville location and they not only did not have their usual big display of Coke cartons as you come in the door, but the six I took were the last six!  Definitely wait!

edit: Free Kellogg’s at CVS?!

Christy at The Shopper’s Apprentice posted that the CVS Rice Krispies is not the 12 oz in the iBotta offer, so add that price back into your cereal equation.

CVS has their daily coupon (valid today and tomorrow only) for Kellogg’s Corn Flakes, Rice Crispies or Cocoa Crispies for 2/$3.  Use the $1/2 coupon from 12/09 rp to get your cost down to a buck a box and then most Ibotta accounts have Corn Flakes and Crispies offers.  I was able to get $1.25, so 75¢ for two boxes of cereal.  Some accounts have higher offers, so in your best case scenario, you could be paying zip!

iBotta is an APP for smart phones where they pay you $ for buying stuff you’d be buying anyway….kinda like double-dipping!   So far I’ve gotten a $5 sign-up bonus (no longer available)and 50¢ for buying DiGiorno pizza at Walgreens.

The wake/funeral we attended last week?  They had a house fire a few years ago and all their personal photos were destroyed – all.  Apparently we are the only ones with photos taken of their 50th anniversary party, so DH is working on some photobooks right now.  Perfect timing, huh?  Great way to put all your vacation, etc. photos in one location – its very own photobook!

Free batteries, dog food & fruit bars with cheap pizzas

If you’ve been holding on to those $10 Canyon Creek dog food IPs, they expire today and surprise, surprise(!) they’ve got them back in stock at Petco. This was the $9.99 variety from the December sale ad and the Petco warehouse was always out. But if you’ve got rain checks or something similar, head on over for free (expensive) dog food.

Ultra has the Duracell copper top batteries on sale this week (through the 9th) for $1.88 for various letters. I printed out the Ultra ad (page 5), which shows the sale dates, and price-matched at Walmart, using the $2 coupons from the 12/09 redplum. Of course, if you’re near an Ultra, you could go that route, too!  I paid 21¢ for 13 packs.

Then on to Target for the last day of the DiGiorno pizza/Edy’s fruit bars sale. In this case, I bought 12 pizzas and 6 Edy’s and paid out about $34 (IPs scan at $7.01 – woot!). I also gave som extra coupons to a clueless dude who was going to stock up on the store brand for more $$!  So his two pizzas would have cost him more than the 3 DiGiornos with a box of fruit bars thrown in for kicks.

If you’re wondering how to store your pizzas, take ’em out of the box!  They’re sealed in thick plastic and it’s easy to see what variety you’ve grabbed.  You can easily double your freezer capacity this way!

And I’d totally forgotten about the Shopkick $2 Target gift card just for walking in!  It appeared on my phone, so all I have to do is walk over to Guest Services next time I’m in Target and they’ll hand me the card!  Even cheaper pizzas!

Additional shopping note:  If you’ve been unable to find any Aveeno products at CVS, make sure you get your rain checks, because the 1/06 Smart Source 1 has a $3/2 coupon, making these 50¢ each after $4.99 sale, coupons and ecbs.  Expiration is 2/6, so plenty of time for CVS to get stock.
