ComboInk is having a 15% off sale through 5/15 when you use promo code MOMMY at check out.  I’ve updated the sidebar ad to reflect their May promotions.  Knock on wood, I’ve had no problems/issues with the cartridges I’ve bought from them.  And honestly, I was prepared for a slight bit of inconvenience or some trouble given the extremely low prices they charge, but NOTHING!  So yes, I can completely recommend them; I’m using their clones of HP laser and color cartridges.  I see they have a combo deal..says you can save up to 80%.

As I posted previously, I purchased a laser cartridge for my printer and a complete set of inks for FirstBorn’s color printer from ComboInk.  At the time, I wasn’t desperate for ink, but the thought of escaping another $72 Staples purchase was oddly appealing.  I’d never heard of/used ComboInk but several positive emails/comments tipped the scales.

Delivery was exceedingly fast and my laser cartridge was very, very well packaged.  Almost identical to HP, I’d say.  Had a bit of difficulty inserting the new cartridge, until dumbass realized I hadn’t taken out the old cartridge yet – – oh, well.  Printing at first was slightly “dusty.”  I’m sure there is a technical term for this, but my conclusion is that there was extra ink that was coating the sheet ever so slightly.  Thankfully, this was the only issue and only at the very beginning.

Would I buy from ComboInk again? In a heartbeat.  As I posted, both the laser cartridge and complete set of inks was 2/3 of the cost of the laser cartridge alone at Staples. Well, I finally broke down and ordered a laser cartridge for me and a set of color and black cartridges for FirstBorn.  I got 12% off Ink and Toner – with promo code GREEN12 or CLOVER.  This brought the order down to $50.99, so free shipping.  Of course, the regular shipping is only $3.99, so not a make or break deal here and I refuse to be put in the position of hitting up Staples for printer ink emergencies.

Have any of you used ComboInk cartridges in the past?  I only found out about them a couple of weeks ago, but if you’ve used their products, please let us know.  You can’t beat their prices – my laser cartridge was $40 cheaper than at Staples (admittedly not a discount operation) and they guarantee their products for a year.  Throw in the 12% discount (through March 31) and it looks like stock up time – FirstBorn’s color cartridges are horrifically expensive and seem to evaporate (I mean, no one could use that much ink, could they?).
