Black & Decker 3 Cups Uncooked Yields 6 Cups Cooked, Rice Cooker is only $13.64 (retail $24.99).  Wow, I might just have to donate my current rice cooker, ’cause this one looks so much better (mine has an exposed heating element, so it gets mineral build up).  For years I labeled people with rice cookers as pretentious snobs (what’s wrong with using a microwave?).  Then I picked up a plastic one at a garage sale just to try it out…I cannot believe the difference in ease of preparation.  Just dump in the container, add water or broth or water/stock, flick the switch and you have a perfect dish for your meal.  I like to add one box of a packaged rice mix and an equal amount of white rice, because those mixes are just way too salty for our tastes.
