We got the $3/2 Pantene coupon!

The bonus P&G insert from the 13th includes a $3/2 Pantene coupon in the Chicago area edition.  Use it at CVS in the following transaction (original post is here).

Pantene will be 2/$6.97 (monthly deal) earn $1 ecb when you buy 2.  You can use the BOGO coupon from the May P&G and you’re at the same deal you can get right now.  However, there will be another P&G bonus insert 5/13 which will contain another Pantene coupon.  Use the $3/2 coupon and you’ll be paying 48¢ and getting back $1 ecb.  suhweet, huh?  Limit one per loyalty card.  Even without the extra $1 ecb it’s a good deal, though.  Definitely a stock-up price.

      • I spoke with a store manager (not an asst) about this very issue and he said he didn’t see where it would be a problem, since you are buying two products and using two coupons (I did read the coupons to him). He said the only issue might be at some stores where the managers tell the staff that you can’t use it because the one item is free. However, he certainly had to problems with customers using both. So, like I said, even without getting the $1 ecb, it’s a sweet deal.

    • And I’m telling you what the store manager told me, that each item will take one coupon as far as the register is concerned. Now, I don’t know if it’s an old vs. new register situation, but I read the coupons (BOGO and $3/2) to him, told him which week and what sale (2 Pantene for $6.97) and this was his answer. So, I only post what I’m told, but if you want to take it as a YMMV situation…

  1. Your manager does anything for you. I’m sorry, but I’m not with you at all on this one: It’s NOT YMMV, it’s NOT one coupon per item. $3.00/2 is a coupon for TWO items. Hence the number two. 😛

  2. You can purchase 4 use 2 bogo cpns and use the $3/2 on the ones you are purchasing. After $1 ecb it comes out to $0.75 each.

  3. i agree rachel i dont see my cvs buying that one . the goddess has more friends than me , i think . if it were jewel i could do anything but not cvs.

    • Actually, there was no difficulty at all. The FREE coupon beeped to allow the cashier to type in the price and that was all. There was nothing sneaky about this transaction. In point of fact, I bought two earlier with another cashier so that’s how I knew the coupons would work.
