Organic Girl produce

I could have sworn I posted about the Organic Girl $2 pdf coupon for use on their triple-washed line of lettuce blends.  The only place I knew that sold it was those new Walgreens.  However, I just had lunch at Zest Cafe in The Lemon Tree Grocer in Downers Grove and found they are having a 25% off produce sale (will probably continue to at least early next week, but call first).  Well, there they were, all varieties of the Organic Girl clamshell lettuce, marked $3.49 on the shelf, but after the 25% discount and a $2 coupon (I had two in my bag), I was able to score these for about .62 each.  Yes, that’s right, 5 oz. packages of organic lettuce blends for that insane price.

Between the organic juice and now the lettuce, I’m starting to eat really healthy – good thing my case of Crunch ‘N Munch from Amazon came today… posts may contain affiliate links and I may be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking that link. See disclosure policy under The Legal Stuff.

    • You’re right, I should have clarified: The New Walgreens are those that sell the fresh fruit, fancy sandwiches, etc. This is the model that Wags is going for in most of their stores. Oak Park immediately comes to mind as a brand new store with a very large area for groceries and fresh items – Glen Ellyn isn’t as fancy (to me), but is the closest one out here. I think Wags has some brilliant plans for future growth (Web pick up and the grocery/fancy food-to-go areas), but worry that the support is tied to their tired and out-of-date warehouse delivery system.
