By now you’ve probably seen the front page of this week’s TRU’s ad with the incredible sale on Hasbro games – we’re talking $3 games, down from $10! And to sweeten it all the more, today’s Smart Source has $2 and $3 coupons.
Big deal, Goddess, I can almost hear you say, we get deals like this all the time! But notice the circle in the upper right hand corner with gift card promotion: Spend $35 on Hasbro board games and get a $10 TRU gift card. The card isn’t activated for 6 hours, so you can’t immediately roll this into another deal.
There is a limit of two like games per transactions, which is pretty easy to hit. I shopped at the Downers Grove store on Butterfield and they were not only well-stocked, they had tons of employees for assistance. Using two board games ($20) and five $3 games, you hit $35. Use either the $3 or $2 coupons (all scan) and you’ll pay as little as $14 and get a $10 TRU gift card.
The latest freebie collage deal at Walgreens starts today and runs through Saturday. Use code BOOCOLLAGE at checkout, choose store pick up and your 8×10 collage will be totally free. Put together a group of the kids in Halloween costume!

Starbucks launched a new way for customers to gift coffee — the tweet-a-coffee program. U.S. customers can now sync their Starbucks accounts to their Twitter accounts and tweet to @tweetacoffee and the Twitter handle of a gift recipient. They can then send the recipient a $5 digital eGift.
Through Nov. 6, the first 100,000 customers who tweet a coffee using a Visa card will receive a $5 Starbucks Card e-gift for themselves, courtesy of Visa and Starbucks.
If you’re looking for free entertainment where they feed you as well (maybe even score some coupons?), head over to Schaumburg, where you can enjoy the Foodtruck Extravaganza! Thanks to the alert reader who sent this info over earlier today…
`Remember that Fight Hunger Charity Dock Sale Home Run Inn held at corporate last December? Basically, you brought in ten cans and got a case of pizzas, limit two cases. A few of us signed up for email news and alerts because Home Run Inn has blow-out sales a couple of times a year and hey, who wouldn’t want these!?
Never got even one email, so called corporate, only to be told that their latest event had been held in September. So I made sure to get signed up again with their MVP Club and got this $2 coupon in my email. Sign up and you’ll be automatically entered to win a year’s worth of pizza (somehow I think my year would involve more pizza than their year…)
The burger giant this Saturday and Sunday — during business hours when fries are normally sold — will hand out free Satisfries to all consumers. No strings attached.
No coupons. No ID cards. No questions. There is, however, a one-per-customer limit.
Burger King figures the best way to get consumers hooked on its new lower-calorie, lower-fat fries is simple: Let ‘em try ‘em. While millions of consumers already have tried the new, crinkle-cut fries that rolled out last week, many millions more have not.
My take on this? If the 70-calorie difference between the two fries is a deal-breaker, don’t eat fast food!
Starbucks customers who buy someone else their favorite drink will receive a free tall brewed coffee starting today through Oct. 11, Chief Executive Officer Howard Schultz, 60, said in an e-mailed letter to Starbucks store and corporate employees.
“It’s that simple — ‘pay it forward,’ and Starbucks will pay you back,” he said. “This is a different yet authentic way Starbucks can help our fellow citizens to come together by supporting one another during a particularly challenging time.”
So go with a friend…
